An upcoming art auction to raise awareness & funds for local Alzheimer’s
programs
Who: Award-winning local and regional artists, activists and individuals touched by
Alzheimer’s disease will come together for the upcoming annual art auction. This
annual event is a highly anticipated fundraising opportunity that attracts prominent
philanthropists from across San Diego County.
San Diego and regional artists including Patrick Carney of Carlsbad, blown-glass
sculptor Robert Verhees, illustrator Sue Turnbull, industrial designer Smadar
Samson and award winning graphic artist Mark Sherman are among those that will
have art featured for auction at the upcoming event.
All proceeds will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association San Diego/Imperial Chapter.
What: The annual San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter Alzheimer’s Association Art
Auction will raise awareness and funds for this pervasive disease, which touches
the lives of more than 150,000 caregivers and afflicted individuals, and is the third
leading cause of death in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The Memories in The
Making has brought together an important community with its unique program
offered by the Alzheimer’s Association for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or
other dementia to express themselves through art.
Over 100 pieces of artwork are available for auction; 20 palettes, 24 stand-alone
paintings by local notable artists as well as 33 works created by artists with
Alzheimer’s.

Tickets: Tickets to the Art Auction are $175 and $250 for VIP and include gourmet
food, fine wines, and live entertainment. VIP tickets also include a hosted VIP
